Words of wisdom

This is my simple religion. There is no need for temples, no need for complicated philosophy. Our own brain, our own heart is our temple, the philosophy is kindness.-Dalai Lama

You can explore the universe looking for somebody who is more deserving of your love and affection than you are yourself, and you will not find that person anywhere

Struggling with emotions today.....

Wow....quotes are just hitting me today. Im struggling with so many emotions today. Im up and down about Pattaya today im home sick. grumpy; fatigued....and this is the quote that hit me:
It is better to conquer yourself than to win a thousand battles. Then the victory is yours. It cannot be taken from you, not by angels or by demons, heaven or hell.-Buddhist Quote

Home Sick.....

Today im deathly home sick. Im missing my little snacks like crazy and just want her little licks and cuddles and snacky-self on the couch next to me......and as always....Buddha knows just what to say!

Let us rise up and be thankful, for if we didn't learn a lot today, at least we learned a little, and if we didn't learn a little, at least we didn't get sick, and if we got sick, at least we didn't die, so, let us all be thankful.

My gorgeous little girl......So sweet with her little perfect Snacks personality.....

The gift of learning to meditate is the greatest gift you can give yourself in this life. For it is only through meditation that you can undertake the journey to discover your true nature, and so find the stability and confidence you will need to live and die, well.

It is being increasingly accepted as a practice that cuts through and soars above cultural and religious barriers, and enables those who pursue it to establish a direct contact with the truth of their being.

In the stillness and silence of meditation, we glimpse and return to that deep inner nature that we have so long ago lost sight of amid the busyness and distraction of our minds. Meditation then, is bringing the mind home

You, yourself, as much as anybody in the entire universe, deserve your love and affection.-Buddhist Quote

Great Quote for today!

It is necessary to help others, not only in our prayers, but in our daily lives. If we find we cannot help others, the least we can do is to desist from harming them.-Dalai Lama

Alternative Healing Weekend

Wow; What an awesome weekend!!
I tried something completely new; i dont know what its called; but i've called it Dunking.....and wow...really i suggest everyone try it.
What happens is you sit in this steam suana room for 10 minutes then move onto a dry menthol suana room.
For here you then dunk into a freezing pool and then alternate between the warm pool and the hot pool.
You do this for about 2 rounds and it supposedly livens your skin up!
It really does; i felt great. Your feet tingle and your arms and legs go red from the cold and the heat.
I was told it is the equivilent of a jog/ work out at gym! From all the constrication and release of blood!
It was LOOOOVELY !

Then on sunday i did a seeweed scrup and oil massage with a facial. Oh man; they were SO relaaxing and so great it was ridonkulous! Really i wouls suggest it to anyone too....the Guinot Luxuary Body Scrub....WOW

A Guide to Buddhist Monestries

In 1978 the World Fellowship of Buddhists published a booklet titled A Brief Guide to Meditation Temples of Thailand. It is now out of print, so the W.F.B. is publishing this new one. Since the publication of the first booklet, many changes have taken place.

In publishing this new revised booklet, they have been able to include updated information on monasteries and meditation centres in this country through the painstaking efforts of Mr. Bill Weir. He spent several months in Thailand travelling to various parts of the country visiting monasteries and meditation centres, seeking information on their current meditation practices and instructions. Apart from collecting information on good places for meditation, Mr. Weir has also made some observations in his introduction on the practices in those monasteries which will be of interest and use to foreigners.
